Importance of Time Management
If I were to list the things that I consider valuable in my life, I would certainly consider time as one of my priorities. There is quite a bit of truth to the common cliché that ”time is gold.” It is rather simple yet it conveys a great meaning that all people in the world, regardless of race and belief would understand and agree upon. Time, when properly utilized, can make every person happier and more successful. Wasted time can cause just the opposite.
Time management is a skill that everyone should master if she or he is planning to climb the ladder of success. Successful people tend to have an increased ability manage their time effectively and to use it wisely in order to accomplish their goals. Time management is the ability to organize and follow everyday activities in a manner that could make a person allocate ample time for everything that has to be attended to. Effective people in different walks of life have realized the secrets of time management and used it to propel their careers and improve their personal lives. The skill can work wonders in the life of every person – a stress-free and a balanced life and the ability to take control of your activities and work effectively under pressure are just few of the great effects of effective time management.
Time management should not be equated with the ability to multitask and dive head first into a number of activities at one time. Time management is actually the ability to achieve results by concentrating your energy and efforts on those activities that will lead you to the accomplishment of your goals in the least possible time. Many people are familiar with the idea of time management. Most people would also like to improve their time management skills in order to advance their careers and their personal lives. Many of the people who don’t get ahead of life, however intelligent and equipped they are in their careers, are procrastinators.
Procrastinating is the bad habit of waiting for work to pile up before you start working on each of them. Procrastinators usually end up stressing themselves out more in the long run by only giving themselves a small window of time in which to complete tasks. Although they claim to be able to work well under pressure, the quality of their work will often suffer.
